Living My Dream: From Back-Up Dancer to TV Host

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a performer at heart. From my early days as a professional backup dancer for musical artists to now gracing the screens as a TV host, my journey has been an exhilarating rollercoaster of unexpected opportunities and fulfilling moments. It’s been a path filled with highs, lows, and everything in between, but each step has brought me closer to realizing my dreams.

Since I was a child, I always loved to talk in front of the camera. My mother would film us at family functions, and I would pretend I was a host, narrating the events with all the enthusiasm I could gather—and let’s not forget the dancing! Those early moments sparked a passion for entertainment that has only grown stronger over the years. Transitioning from a professional dancer, through injury and heartbreak, to TV hosting in 2017 was a road with many curves and speed bumps, but I am glad life’s progression landed me here.

In 2017, my life took a dramatic turn when I broke off my wedding engagement. At that point, I knew I needed a fresh start. I remember sharing my dreams with my ex-fiancé, only to have them shut down. It was heartbreaking, but sometimes a heartbreak is the push we need to try new things. Did some people think I was crazy for exploring this avenue? Heck yeah! But I had the passion in my heart, and even though I was terrified, I knew it was better than living with the "what if?" So, I took the leap. I went back to school, and the rest, as they say, was history.

Before this pivotal year, I had suffered an injury that forced me to take a break from dancing. During my recovery, I worked at a golf resort as a VIP concierge. It was a far cry from the stage lights and music I was used to, but it was a job that gave me the time and space to think about my next steps. The idea of pursuing a career in television started to take root during this period of reflection and healing.

My journey truly began at the end of 2017 during a class project. I created a YouTube segment called "Miami on a Dime," where I explored the best budget-friendly spots in Miami. This project turned out to be a hit and showcased my passion for storytelling and engaging with the community. Little did I know, this would open the door to incredible opportunities.

In 2018, after Graduation I landed an internship with Americateve, a prominent Spanish TV show. This opportunity was nothing short of a dream come true. As an intern, I soaked in every aspect of the broadcasting world, from production meetings to on-set dynamics. The experience was humbling and incredibly enriching, laying the groundwork for my future in multimedia journalism. I remember feeling a mix of nerves and excitement every day, knowing that I was learning from the best in the industry.

My time at Americateve was surreal. One moment I was serving coffee, steaming wardrobe, and acting as a production assistant, and the next, I found myself thrust into the spotlight. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was asked to step in front of the camera and host the show "Tírate Que Das Pie." That moment was my shot, and I took it with both hands. It was both terrifying and exhilarating, and it marked the beginning of my on-screen career. Hosting "Tírate Que Das Pie" was an incredible experience, and to top it all off, the show won a Telly Award. Talk about a pinch-me moment!

Shortly after my internship at Americateve, I found myself interning with The Daily Flash, another pivotal step in my journey. It was here that I began to realize my potential as a host. The Daily Flash is a nationally syndicated show, and being a part of it was a massive leap for my career. Transitioning from the dance floor to the host's chair was a leap of faith, requiring me to learn new skills, hone my interviewing techniques, and adapt to the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism.

At The Daily Flash, I wore many hats—sometimes quite literally! It was there that I found myself serving coffee, steaming wardrobe, and even sometimes cleaning up the set with the other interns. As an assistant producer, I was responsible for producing segments, writing scripts, running the teleprompter, and scouting talent for our shows. Imagine me, armed with a cup of coffee in one hand and a stack of scripts in the other, running around like a headless chicken trying to make everything perfect. It was a whirlwind, but I loved every second of it. I even got to produce entertainment segments, fashion segments, celebrity gossip segments, and trending topics, contributing to the overall flow of the show, which gave me a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into creating compelling television.

What makes this journey truly remarkable is that I never imagined myself in this role during my previous jobs—whether it was working in corporate offices or at a golf course. The idea of seeing myself on TV, not as a dancer but as a voice and a face delivering entertaining news and stories, seemed like a distant dream. Yet, here I was, embracing a new challenge and loving every moment of it. This was something I only daydreamed of.

Dreams have a funny way of materializing when you least expect them. I've had the privilege of participating in pilots for various shows pitched to Napte Networks, broadening my horizons beyond what I ever thought possible. Each new project brought its own set of challenges and learning experiences, pushing me to grow both professionally and personally. Additionally, my role as a spokesmodel for several companies and guest hosting on different shows has further enriched my experience and versatility in front of the camera. These opportunities allowed me to connect with diverse audiences and tell stories that matter.

Throughout this journey, I've had the honor of covering red carpet events, engaging in insightful celebrity interviews, and connecting with fascinating individuals at various events. These experiences have not only sharpened my interviewing skills but have also allowed me to immerse myself in the vibrant worlds of entertainment and culture. Each interview and event brought new stories and inspirations, reinforcing my love for this profession.

One of the most recent and exciting chapters of my career has been joining The Dining Divas, a captivating foodie TV show where we explore the culinary delights of South Florida. Can you imagine getting paid to talk about and savor food? It's a dream come true for someone like me, who has always had a passion for both entertainment and culinary experiences.

Each episode is a new adventure, filled with mouth-watering dishes, interesting chefs, and delightful conversations. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the stories behind the food and the joy of sharing those stories with our viewers. We also do a lot of community appearances and come out on a nationally syndicated program, available to stream on Binge Networks and Amazon Prime.

Reflecting on my journey thus far fills me with immense gratitude for the opportunities that have come my way. Every step—from dancer to intern to host—has been a building block in my career. It's a testament to the power of perseverance, dedication, and seizing opportunities when they arise. I’ve learned that sometimes the path to your dreams isn’t straightforward, but every twist and turn brings you closer to where you’re meant to be.

I am especially grateful for the support of my family, friends, and mentors who have believed in me and encouraged me to pursue my passions. Their unwavering support has been my anchor, especially during the challenging times. Knowing that I have a strong support system has given me the courage to take risks and embrace new opportunities. They have been my cheerleaders, my critics, and my biggest supporters, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

As I continue to grow in my role as a TV host, I am excited about the future. Whether it's uncovering compelling stories, meeting inspiring people, or simply sharing my passion with viewers, I am living proof that pursuing your dreams can lead to unexpected and fulfilling journeys. There’s so much more I want to explore and achieve, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I’m eager to continue learning, growing, and embracing the opportunities that come my way.

So, here's to embracing the twists and turns of life's adventure and to never underestimating where your dreams can take you. As for me, I'll be right here—living my dream, one broadcast at a time. Here’s to the journey, the lessons learned, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Thank you for being part of my story. Let’s continue to dream big, work hard, and make magic happen, one show at a time.
